Brussels is a practical cross-border add-on. The Grand Place, ringed by ornate guildhalls, makes a natural first destination, with a walk or local connection from Brussels-Midi. A ticket must still be valid for the route, class, time restrictions and any supplement; it is not permission to board every international train. Eurostar requires a booked service and seat.
