Bikes cannot travel on this ferry, mobility scooters cannot board, and wheelchair users must manage steps with help if needed. There is no return sailing to IJburg on this service. A Muiden waterfront walk remains a simpler independent option.

For a separate windmill-and-village day, the Zaanse Schans, Edam, Volendam and Marken circuit is another choice. It does not visit Muiderslot or promise a live Edam cheese market. The comparison matters because day-trip time is finite. Zaanse Schans offers windmills and a village, while Giethoorn involves a longer trip for a canal setting. Keukenhof has a fixed spring garden season, 18 March–9 May 2027, with weather-dependent flowers. Muiderslot’s historical building and gardens are a different interest, not a substitute for tulip fields.

On a short stay, choose the destination you most want to see and keep the rest of the itinerary realistic.
